Small Leaf Tamarind (Diploglottis Campbellii)

Small Leaf Tamarind (also called Diploglottis campbellii) is a rare rainforest tree found in parts of northern New South Wales and southeastern Queensland. It has shiny green leaves and produces small, round orange-red fruits with a sour but tasty pulp.

The tangy flesh of this plant can be eaten fresh or used to flavour food. It is rich in vitamin C and has a strong, zesty taste. The fruit is sometimes used in sauces, jams and drinks.

This tree grows best in warm, wet rainforest environments. Because it is rare and endangered, it's important to protect and care for it.
