The Blue Tongue gets its name from the sweet, blue-black fruits that stain the mouth. They are found in across Western Australia, the Northern Territory, Queensland, and the northern New South Wales coast.
The Blue Tongue flowers during Spring and Summer, producing purple flowers that last just a few days before small black berries begin to appear. This fruit can be eaten directly from the tree or turned into jams.
The Blue Tongue grows to approximately 3m in height and produces plenty of pollen, which attracts bees.
