Native Peanut (Sterculia Quadrifida)

Native peanuts are delicious! Their flowers are produced in spring followed by large leathery pods that turn bright orange-red when ripe in summer. Pods split when ripe to expose large black edible seeds that taste like peanuts. Can be eaten raw or roasted.
