Recently students at Byron Bay Public School participated in the annual Great Book Swap raising valuable funds for the Indigenous Literacy Foundation. The Book Swap was a huge success this year raising over $800 for the Foundation.
Students were encouraged to bring in a book from home, some bringing many more. These students then brought in a gold coins to swap for books of their choice.
The Foundation uses funds raised to assist remote indigenous communities with publishing books in both English and the language of the group they are sent to.
